Godfather to the sound that changed Chicago dance music forever, the juke architect DJ Deeon returns with Yeah, his fresh new single for Teklife. Following up his Destiny EP from last year, this new track is oozing with that signature bounce he’s been known for since the early 90s. Taking quirky bits of sound and pairing them with his mastery of time-honored drum machines, he gives us another infectious ghetto house banger. Built over a rubbery rhythm of hand drums, his discernible voice shouts out commanding club chants courted by a hypnotic minor melody, with brutal 909s gluing it all together. It’s the classic Deeon we all know and love, in your face, wonderfully functional, and funky as hell.
